Texas EBT Deposit Schedule for 2023
In the state of Texas, the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is responsible for distributing SNAP (food stamp) benefits to those who qualify.
The Texas EBT card (also called Lone Star Card) is used to provide access to food stamp (SNAP) and cash assistance (TANF) benefits.
The Texas Lone Star Card is just like a regular debit card. It can be used to purchase eligible food items at approved stores and online.
When it comes to the Texas EBT deposit schedule, there is no single date that all Texas SNAP and TANF benefits are issued.
Rather, food stamp and cash benefits are deposited on TX EBT Cards over the first 15 days of every month.
In addition, the day your benefits are deposited depends on the last digit of your EDG Number.
An EDG number (Eligibility Determination Group) is the number assigned to each benefit case (e.g SNAP, TANF, and Medicaid health care).
You can find your EDG number on the TF0001 form. This is the form that was sent to you from Health and Human Services saying that you have been approved for food stamps in Texas.
If you can’t find your EDG number, please call the Texas Health and Human Services at 800-777-7328.
